Task 3

creative process

First, I found this picture

She drew a blue-green goldfish, which is different from the usual color of goldfish. This made me think about whether there will be any changes in the appearance of organisms in the ocean after pollution?

So I found another picture

In the painting, the upper body of the whale is exposed out of the water, while the lower body becomes all kinds of garbage underwater.

This gave me some creative inspiration, So I drew this picture

sketches 1

I originally wanted to draw a girl using a camera to take a picture of a strange creature polluted by the environment, and then use film to depict the appearance of the creature.

But I made the mistake of focusing on the girl instead of the film content, and I left too little white space on the film. So I gave up this creation. So I changed my creative direction.

sketches 2

This time I drew a small patch of beach in the lower right corner, and the remaining white space was the ocean. But I felt that the painting did not express my subject clearly, so I gave up on the painting again.

Then I found a picture

Many tentacles appeared under the castle floating on the sea. This work called "Tentacle Island" reminds me of the huge sea monster hidden under the sea when I used to watch movies.

Just in February this year, a leak occurred at a Japanese nuclear power plant, and a large amount of nuclear wastewater flowed into the sea, so I wanted to create based on this.

sketches 3

I first drew the factory on the sea. Large amounts of smoke obscured the sky and heavy rain began.

Then I drew a huge shark on the ocean floor. Based on previous inspiration, I changed the lower body of the shark into a lot of garbage to reflect the harm that non-recyclable garbage causes to marine life. Finally I painted them. The shark's huge size also reflects the possible consequences of wastewater being discharged into the ocean.

This picture mainly depicts factories on the sea and sharks on the bottom of the sea, and no other objects are depicted. This point adopts the design principle of emphasizing.

Offshore factories symbolize all the factories around the world that emit pollutants without regulations. The shark on the bottom of the sea symbolizes most of the marine life. The shark's tail turned into garbage, which also symbolizes the damage to the ecological balance of the ocean caused by the garbage discarded by people. Symbolic design principles are used here.

The sharks on the bottom of the sea seemed to jump from the bottom of the sea to the surface with the thunderstorm and the surging waves. This will make people feel that they will pay the price for destroying the ecological balance of the ocean. And this is also an application of movement in design principles.(219 words)

Teacher Suggestion

Use colors to make my paintings richer, the sky can be painted more, and the sea level can be moved down further.

Self-reflection

It also takes a lot of practice to integrate design principles into my creations.I also want to learn more about other designers and their design ideas to broaden my thinking.
